Interfaith Food Drive

The Light House Project is holding its annual #FeedTheirLegacy Interfaith Food Drive to collect items for the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC from Feb 1-Feb 26. Over the last 7 years, this food drive has provided almost 300,000 meals for the Food Bank!

Over the next month companies, schools, and congregations across the triangle will be collecting non perishable items for those in need. The food drive is held in honor of Deah, Yusor, and Razan, the victims of the #ChapelHillShooting in 2015. Deah Barakat, Yusor Abu-Salha and Razan Abu-Salha had big ideas for how they wanted to help the world. One of Deah’s last facebook posts was where he and Yusor were giving food and free dental supplies to the homeless. Razan, was a regular at Raleigh’s Moore Square, where she too fed and helped those in need as a leader in the community.

2020 was the last year Jewish Family Services and the Jewish community were able to take part in The Light House Project 's Interfaith Food Drive. We are finally back and excited to help- now through 2/25, you can drop off non-perishable food to support this community food drive. Drop off food at:

  • Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services

  • Raleigh-Cary Jewish Community Center

  • Beth Meyer Synagogue

  • Temple Beth Or

On 2/26, join us and many other volunteers at the Islamic Association of Raleigh for a day of service and community where we will load all the collections onto a truck and deliver to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
