Bikur Cholim volunteers are trained and provide comfort to patients in a time of need. Bikur Cholim is currently offered at WakeMed Raleigh, WakeMed Cary, Rex Hospital, Duke Raleigh.

Holiday Outreach

JFS coordinates several Holiday and Shabbat outreach efforts to provide families and individuals in need the experience and opportunity of Jewish traditions when they may not be able to take part in the greater community. Whether they are home bound, isolated or have a financial need, JFS is here to provide the Jewish connection. Among these are catered Kosher-style Shabbat and holiday meals, a Chanukah Gift Drive, Passover bags and more.

Community Events and Programs

Our workshops and programs are catered to populations of all ages and stages of life. Along with topics relating to parenting, mental health and well-being, and older adults issues, we organize and coordinate programs relating to the entire community on social action, volunteerism and more. Good Deeds Day is an annual tradition of good deeds. All over the world, hundreds of thousands choose to volunteer and help others, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world. In 2018, Raleigh-Cary Jewish Family Services marked its 4th year coordinating and leading this day with over 460 volunteers in 20 community projects. Learn more here.
